Charleen and her trusted executive assistant, Cosmo

At a pivotal moment in her career, founder Charleen Schurman recognized this gap and took a leap of faith, branching out on her own to help fill an important need in the local business market. With more than 35 years of experience across a wide range of roles, and a zesty “get ’er done” approach, Charleen quickly found herself surrounded by new opportunities. Around the same time, she noticed that many of her peers were also exploring career changes. Family members, friends, and professional colleagues soon joined her, and with that, PlanIt was born.

Today, PlanIt is proud to be an Indigenous-led, women-owned business serving more than 20 renewing clients, both locally and externally. Our continued growth is the result of teamwork, a passion for what we do, and a commitment to continuous learning. We overcome challenges together to deliver exceptional results, laying strong foundations for trust and long-term success.

Under the leadership of Maris Jacobs, who now serves as Executive Director, PlanIt continues to evolve while staying true to its core values. Clients can trust that we will communicate with respect, honesty, and a keen eye for detail — every step of the way.

PlanIt Consulting and Communications was born from a growing need within Kahnawà:ke for trusted professionals who could take on unique business projects and see them through from concept to completion. Many local organizations were seeking a skilled freelance technician who could transform ideas into clear strategies and successful outcomes.
